Dìtán 地壇, as it is called in Chinese 0r the Temple of the Earth is another of the celestial temples built in 1530 for the emperor to fulfill his duties of sacrifice to ensure prosperity of the nation. A short subway ride from the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Earth is also a public park. When we arrived, a street market was in full swing within the temple walls. The array of goods and colors was dizzying!
Then we walked around the temple and finished up in the smaller park across the street.
